HÉCTOR OESTERHELD (1919-1977?) is the father of the Argentinian comic strip. He is best known for The Eternaut, Ernie Pike and Sgt. Kirk

A fierce opponent of the military regime of General Videla, his name is included in the long list of the desaparecidos.

Joe Flint, nicknamed “Ticonderoga,” is a brave young subject of Great Britain’s King George II. He fights alongside his companions–Caleb Lee, a cadet, and the sage Numokh–in the French and Indian War, a conflict in the mid-1700s in which the French and British battled each other for control of the American colonies.

Having first appeared in Argentina in 1957, followed by decades of oblivion, Ticonderoga now returns for the first time in its original guise, thanks to a monumental recovery and restoration effort that began with comic books that have become almost impossible to find.

Sequences of intense action alternate with moments of superb graphic lyricism. From the fury of an ambush to the tranquil landscapes of the Great Lakes region, Oesterheld and Pratt have brought to life a tale of adventure and coming-of-age that is not to be missed, a story in which the war becomes a mirror wherein anyone may glimpse the face of his worst enemy: himself.
